Dear Parents,

My name is Miss Racquel Tubbs, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.  You and I will be spending more time with your child than any other adult.  Because of this, I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself-both personally and professionally.

I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, home of the University of Alabama.  So to all of you Auburn fans, “Roll Tide!”  I love to read, cook, listen to music, and most of all, teach young children.  I am a member of The Guiding Light Church, Bishop Jim Lowe.  I received my Bachelor and Master’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Alabama State University.  This will be my seventeenth year in the teaching profession.  I taught first grade for three years.  This will be my second year to teach Kindergarten.  I am very eager to start teaching your “little angels.”

Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child.  I need you to support my academic, homework, and discipline efforts here at school.  In return, I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences at school.  With school and home working together, I know that each and every student can have his/her most successful school year yet.  If there is anything specific I need to know about your child, please call or send a note to school.  If you have any questions or comments, I may be contacted at 379-4900 wk, or by email, rtubbs@jefcoed.com.

Sincerely,

Miss Racquel Tubbs
